The Montessori Elementary & Preschool was established in 1979 by a small group of teachers dedicated to offering a Montessori education for students from families committed to this method of education. The Board of Directors approved the move of the school to Lemont in 1990. In 2001, the school moved to its permanent location in Lemont after the construction of a new campus on 7.5 acres of donated land.

In the Spring of 2010, a new building was completed to house our Lower Elementary (6-9 year old) students. Funds are currently being raised to add an Activity Center and a Toddler Community to our existing Primary (3-6 year old) building.
