Admissions
Admission to a specific program is based on a child's developmental
readiness and class placement is made with a goal of attaining a
balance of age and gender within each program. The Montessori Elementary
& Preschool admits students of any gender, race, color, religion,
national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and
activities available to students at the School. The School does
not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, or national
and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies,
admissions, scholarship and other school administered programs.
Siblings of children already enrolled in the School and transfer
students from other Montessori schools will be given priority in
the enrollment process.
Completion of the Primary Program does not guarantee placement in
the Elementary Program. Admission into the Elementary classes is
based on recommendation of the Primary teacher and parent history
of school involvement. Interested parents should make an appointment
to observe a class and meet the teachers.
A trial period of six weeks in the classroom follows admission.
During this trial period, either the school or the parents may decide
that the situation is not beneficial to the student, whether new
or currently enrolled, and the student may be withdrawn or dismissed
from the school with no penalty to the parents or the School: Parents
will be released from tuition obligations set forth in the Tuition
Agreement and the School will not refund deposits, fees or tuition
payments covering the period of attendance. During this trial period,
every effort will be made to keep the parents informed of the student's
progress and assimilation into the classroom environment.
The Montessori School of Lemont does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation or national or ethnic origin.
